Karen Shiozawa
b. 1998, Kanagawa

Karen Shiozawa  graduated from ZOKEI University in Tokyo, where she studied fine arts and completed graduate school. Shiozawa has continuously sought to expand the realm of communication through her art. She projects childhood memories and everyday emotions onto her two dimensional works while developing three dimensional forms of expression, such as sound and light, to convey a world beyond mere visual perception. Shiozawa received the Best Formative Art Prize at the National Art Center, Tokyo in 2018, and the Excellence Award at the 48th Art Festival Tokyo Ten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in 2022. Her works were acquired by the Deji Art Museum in China in 2020.
